What Makes Northwest Open Water Swim Excursions Unique?
We provide the highest quality safety accompaniment, maintaining a support ratio of one safety craft per (maximum) six swimmers. Our Excursions often include on-water support personnel with Emergency Management Technician (EMT) and Coast Guard experience.
All Excursions include at least one safety kayaker holding current Red Cross CPR certification, and an independent Safety Officer with cancellation authority. All are fully insured.
Each Swim Excursion provides:
- Open water sighting and swim tips
- Use of a changing cabana
- A snack and drink after the swim
- Pre-swim yoga to prepare physically and mentally
- Use of post-swim CoreWarmers, to help you warm up fast if necessary
- Wetsuit rental suggestions and transportation to and from your hotel (an additional fee applies).
Our diverse Swim Excursion clients range from driven, successful triathletes to pool swimmers trying open water swimming for the first time. Each Excursion accommodates a maximum of twenty swimmers.

When and Where do the Excursions Take Place?
Swim Excursions take place in the Seattle area. Our two Wilderness Adventure Swims are the exception, as these occur in pristine lakes within an hour outside Seattle. Depending on the date, Excursions occur both in Puget Sound and in Lake Washington. We offer weekend and mid-week Swim Excursions to fit every swimmer’s schedule.
Please assess your own skills and register only if you know you have the fitness and endurance for these adventures. Sorry, we can NOT refund registration fees. In emergency situations, we may allow you to apply your registration fee to a different Excursion. Please carefully read the Safety Plan before registering.

Every time you swim with us, you help keep our oceans clean. We donate a portion of each swim’s registration fee to Oceana.
Individual Challenge Swims
These customized swims are from one to three people who are training for specific events. Same as an Excursion, but faster, tougher, and potentially longer, based on needs. Scheduled when YOU need to train for the big one.
